Mix together flour, salt, powdered sugar, water, and egg yolk. Add softened butter; beat smooth. Add milk; beat. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Bake until brown and crisp.
Not every waffle begs for syrup. Serve these savory delights with salsa and sour cream.
Preheat the waffle maker.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, cheese, baking powder, sugar, salt and chili powder. Add the milk, eggs, vegetable oil and chiles, and mix just until moistened. Mixture may be a little lumpy.

Cinnamon-Apple: Add
1 apple peeled and shredded, 1
teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon
cinnamon to the batter.
Combine eggs, sugar, milk, and
vanilla; stir thoroughly.
In a separate bowl, blend
chocolate syrup with butter. Let
cool; stir into egg mixture.
Combine all dry ingredients
(flour, baking powder and salt).
Add egg and chocolate batters to
dry ingredients and stir until
smooth.

If waffles stick to iron, brush grids with vegetable oil.
Variations:
Chocolate Lovers: Add 1/2
cup mini chocolate chips to batter.
Cinnamon & Chocolate: Add
1 teaspoon of cinnamon to dry
ingredients.
Serving suggestions: Top with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, or for something special, layer waffles with slices of ice cream and top with fruit or sundae sauce, whipped cream, and nuts. Serve at once or freeze for later use.

peanut butter, butter or margarine
(cooled), eggs, and milk.

mix, brown sugar, and
spices.
Add milk, molasses, oil, and
egg; stir until combined.
Pour into waffle iron and
bake until golden brown (about
90 seconds).
No Pancake Mix? Use 2 cups
all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon
baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon
salt in place of pancake mix.
Variation:
Fold in 1/2 cup raisins
or 1/2 cup chopped dates or add
1 cup pumpkin.
Serving suggestion: Top with sauteed apples or pears, applesauce, lemon sauce, or maple syrup and pecans.

and eggs together.
Add all dry ingredients, along
with water and lemon rind, and
blend until smooth.
Pour approximately 314 cup

Tip: To make your own vanilla sugar, place several beans in a large bottle and fill to the brim with very fine sugar. Close tightly and keep in a dry place. refill with more sugar as you use it.

eggs, parsley, chives, salt, and

potato mixture with the milk,
